(WSIL) — News 3 continues to dig deeper into National Child Abuse Prevention month and is highlighting another local organization working to help kids and families.
Caritas Family Solutions is a non-profit that serves central and southern Illinois with programs to support infants from seniors. One focus for the group is its foster care program, which is the largest in southern Illinois and second largest (private agency) in the state.
CEO Gary Huelsmann says children are put into the foster care system when there is abuse or neglect happening at home making it unsafe for them to be in that environment.
