Mental Health Housing
Supportive housing that promotes stability, independence, and recovery
Safe, stable housing can make a meaningful difference in a person’s healing journey. For some individuals living with mental health or substance use challenges, independent living may not be possible for a period of time. During that time, supportive housing can provide the structure, encouragement, and resources needed to move toward greater stability and independence.
Caritas Family Solutions offers mental health housing programs in Monroe County to help individuals and families maintain a safe place to live while continuing their progress toward recovery and well-being.
Permanent Supportive Housing
Our transitional housing program supports individuals who need help finding and maintaining stable housing while they work toward recovery. This support is designed to help people build a stronger foundation and take the next steps forward with confidence.
Supervised Mental Health Housing
Caritas also provides supervised housing for individuals with significant mental health needs. In these residences, staff are available around the clock to offer support, supervision, and guidance while encouraging each person’s growth, recovery, and independence.

Our Residences
Our community residences include one-bedroom apartments for individuals and two-bedroom units for families. To help make housing more affordable, Caritas provides rental subsidies for low-income individuals and families. Residents pay no more than 30 percent of their income toward rent and utilities.
By reducing housing costs, this program helps residents afford other everyday needs and opportunities that support a healthier, more connected life in the community, including transportation and other basic activities. Our residential units are located near community resources such as grocery stores, libraries, churches, and post offices, making it easier for residents to stay engaged in daily life. Rent and utility costs are based on each resident’s income.
Along with owning these properties, Caritas manages the residences and provides rental services. As residents continue their healing and recovery, case managers help them build practical life skills such as budgeting, healthy cooking, and goal setting. We want each home to feel welcoming, respectful, and supportive of the next step in a person’s journey.
