Foster Homes Hit Hard by Pandemic

(WSIL) — Caritas, the second largest provider of foster care services in Illinois, says this year has been hard on their services.

This is making donations even more important.

Caritas provides services to people of all ages, but CEO Gary Huelsmann says the pandemic has been especially difficult for those in their foster program.

He says foster families have lost jobs, been infected with COVID, or have had to make arrangements to accommodate children who are not in school.

All of this leads to an extra draw on resources.
