Our adoption program is the largest in Southern Illinois.
We were awarded accreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA) for traditional Adoption Program. Of 946 quality standards, we scored 81% in the highest “outstanding” and 18% in the second highest “good” levels.
In FY2019, we served 148 individuals in our private adoption program with 9 finalized adoptions. 132 adoptions from foster care became final.
Care and support for women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy.
We are the only agency in our region that provides supportive services to the birth mother, regardless of if she chose an adoption plan or to parent her baby.
In FY2019, we served eight women in our program.

The largest Foster Care program in Southern Illinois and second largest in the state
We are ranked as one of the top providers for highest Foster Care performance ratings in the State of Illinois from Department of Children and Family Services for past four years.
In FY2019, we served 2,035 children through our foster care program. 688 new children entered our foster care program and 352 children achieved permanency (either returned home or were adopted).
A safe place for women who are homeless and pregnant that provides support services to empower them to make the best choices for their baby.
We empowered 13 young mothers in FY2019.
Since 2010, we have served 102 moms and their 90 babies.
Average resident is 24 years-old and stays at Fontebella 11 months.
A home for children who have been abused or neglected, who are too traumatized to succeed in foster care
St. John Bosco Children’s Center is the only residential treatment center south of Bloomington, Illinois for abused and neglected children ages 6-18.
Our Children’s Center served 50 children and provided 11,156 days of residential care in FY2019.
90% of discharges were positive in FY2019. 73% of those positive discharges were sustained after 3 months.
An assisted living facility for low-income seniors
Fox River provides residents with comfortable, safe apartments where they receive assistance in daily living.
100% of residents are low-income seniors with special needs.
We served 34 low-income seniors in FY2019.
A supported employment program to help low-income seniors live more independently
Participants are low-income seniors over age 55 who benefit from job training, search and placement assistance.
SCSEP is the top-performing provider in the state of Illinois and is the second highest performing provider in the country (out of 67 providers).
SCSEP had 148 participants in FY2019.
SCSEP participants completed 72,037 community service hours in FY2019.
Group homes for people with developmental disabilities
In FY2019, we served 17 adults with developmental disabilities through four homes in the community.
